Cherry Creek Clean-Ups – Next Clean-Up is Earth Day, April 22, 2023
Thanks to the die-hard group of 15 who showed up on November 4 after the first snow! We appreciate all of our participants, but on this last clean-up of the season want to especially thank Inspirato and CapitalOne, whose employees participated in this very cold clean-up! Thanks also to our LoDoNA president, Jerry Orten, and his wife, Jamie who do not miss a clean-up. Jerry and Jamie helped add to the Cherry Creek Hall of Fame creek finds with a Halloween skeleton leg!
Watch for our Earth Day kick-off event on Saturday, April 22, 2023. And if your company or group would like to “anchor” one of the First Friday clean-ups next summer, please let me know which month works for you by contacting me at kathy@gentryassociates.net. All you need to do is pick a day, get the word out, and show up!
Barth Hotel – Join us for the Holiday Celebration on December 22 at the Barth. Volunteers are needed around 4 p.m. that day to pick up the donated food from our very generous LoDo restaurants. Watch also for Holiday Project information to be able to donate to provide bed and bath linens to residents.
Showers for All – Showers recently hit (and celebrated) its 10,000 shower and load of laundry, and is looking forward to the next 10,000. If you want to learn more about Showers, volunteering, and the impact it has on its guests, go to https://www.showersforall.org/.

Mobile Food Markets – roughly a 3-hour commitment and VERY FUN. The food gathered from its hundreds of partners is loaded into people’s cars at several set markets each month in areas with limited food options.
Denver Broncos Food Recovery – I tried this for the first time on November 20. It is overwhelming how much food is left in the football suites after a game. Usable food, primarily protein items such as prime rib, taco meat, hotdogs and bratwurst are collected from every suite and stored in the huge walk in refrigerator to be collected the next day and delivered to several agencies and non-profits, including Sox Place, for homeless youth.
Food Donation Pick-Up – if you like to work solo and help pick up smaller batches of food, this might be your best We Don’t Waste Option.
