Pedestrian Safety Committee

The Pedestrian Safety Committee is dedicated to creating a safer, more accessible, and more welcoming experience for everyone who lives, works, and visits LoDo. As one of Denver’s most active and high-traffic neighborhoods, LoDo faces unique challenges—from heavy foot traffic and micromobility use to complex street patterns shaped by our historic urban core. Our committee works to identify these issues, advocate for meaningful solutions, and collaborate directly with city partners to improve safety and mobility for all.

Co-chaired by Mike Miller and L. Elle Baker, the committee serves as a bridge between the community and the City and County of Denver. We meet regularly with the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (DOTI), our City Council office, and micromobility operators to ensure LoDo’s needs and concerns are heard at every level. Our work includes advancing clearer regulations for scooters and e-bikes, improving sidewalk and intersection safety, promoting responsible curb management, and supporting thoughtful infrastructure investments that reflect LoDo’s dense and dynamic environment.

Our mission is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and data-driven advocacy. Although LoDo represents only about 1% of Denver’s landmass, it accounts for nearly 25% of all micromobility rides citywide, making our engagement—and the need for effective, well-designed safety measures—especially critical.

Whether you’re a resident looking to get involved or a stakeholder interested in learning more, the Pedestrian Safety Committee is committed to shaping a safer future for LoDo, one step at a time.
